Overview
Lymphoma is a cancer of the lymphatic system, the network of glands and vessels that helps fight infection. It usually shows up as painless swelling of the lymph glands in the neck, armpit or groin, often with night sweats and weight loss. There are many types, some slow-growing and some fast, and many are highly treatable, even curable. Because swollen glands are usually due to infection, it is lasting, painless swelling that most needs a doctor's assessment.

Causes
The cause is often unknown; risk is raised by a weakened immune system, some infections, and certain autoimmune conditions.
